PARENT ADVISORY COUNCIL
The Council is made up of parents who work in conjunction with the center in an effort to enhance communication between teachers/parents/center and to assist in developing guidelines with any school related issues. It is a way of showing support to our children for the decisions we have made for them, along with developing friendships with other families who attend the center.
Programs the Council has been involved in the past are:
Summer Explorers:
The Council suggests ideas for field trips and other special activities to be considered for the summer explorer program.
Family Events:
Family events are planned in the fall as a start of a new school year and to welcome new families to the Center.
Past events include:
Spaghetti Dinner – where families of the center provided delicious salads, breads, desserts and beverages while Mr. Michael showed his cooking skills and provided a pasta dish for everyone to enjoy.
Night Out – included Sloppy Joe sandwiches and desserts, raffles and prizes.
Ice Cream Social
School Picnic:
The Council assists in any way to make the Annual School Picnic a success, by distributing flyers, conducting some fun activities (bubbles, face painting, rock painting) and a small raffle.
Communication:
The Council feels they represent parents of the Center by suggesting ideas or discussing and assisting to resolve any concern that may arise.
Through flyers, minutes and special announcements, the Council provides families with information regarding items such as:
Teacher Appreciation Week (May) – always an important week to remember as we show our support to the teachers of our children.
